The Chengdu J-224 (Chinese: 歼-224; pinyin: Jiān-Èrlíng), also known as Dark Dragon (Chinese:
黑暗巨龙; pinyin: hēi àn jù lóng), is a single-seat, STOVL, all-weather, stealth, fifth-generation+ fighter aircraft developed by China's Chengdu Aerospace Corporation for the People's Liberation Army Air Force (PLAAF). The J-224 is designed as an air superiority fighter with precision strike capability; it descends from the J-XXX program of the 2000s.
